Natural way to treat a cavity???

So i think dd may have a cavity, one of her front molars.
we're on medicaid and they only cover the mercury fillings.
And it's likely the will use GA to do it.
So do I just keep brushing it and let it fall out in a few years???

What can I do to NATURALLY treat and prevent cavities???

We're on Medicaid too, and have some cavities to be filled. Medicaid (mine anyways) will pay partially for white fillings- I think it will end up costing me $12 per filling. Not too bad, kwim?

But, I just recently have read a lot of stuff on using xylitol to treat cavities. I just ordered the Spry infant tooth gel- no glycerine (which I guess coats teeth, so saliva can't get to them to remineralize them), no fluoride, actually, not too many ingredients. http://www.xlear.com/shop.aspx?info=...od=SPRY%20TGEL

Also, there's a thread in this forum on "curing cavities with nutrition" or something close. I've started the cod liver oil, and butter. Toraji has some great advice, including nutrition and topical fluoride treatments (if you want to go the fluoride route). I believe that topical fluoride has its place, but I need a non-fluoride toothpaste to brush my ds's teeth with, as he pretty much thinks that toothpaste is just good eatin'. lol. She replied to my thread a few posts back.

I've also read some on the different minerals that your body needs in order to remineralize teeth. I definitely need to go further into researching that. (toraji had some good places to start, and a good link to a great really long and hard to read thread. lol)

I think we're going to try to hold off on ds's cavities as long as possible- at least until he is old enough to sit still to have them filled.
