pg w/ #2 while still nursing #1 - questions - Page 2

I am nursing a 24 mo. old and am due on the 14th. I started feeling like I was coming down with fever when I was 6 weeks. Lately I have felt fine but very tired and groggy in my thinking. Maybe ds's nursing has slowed a little since I've been pg but not much. My boobs don't hurt at all. My last pg I was on antidepressants and had to stop the minute the test came up positive. I was so dizzy I couldn't get out of bed for 10 days and gained 10 lbs in those 10 days. After that I didn't get out of bed until the 2nd trimester 'rosy glow' hormoned kicked in and then everything was beautiful!

I've nursed through two pregnancies and I'm tandeming through this one. I think I have had fewer symptoms with the pg's I've nursed in, early pg symptoms, anyway. I was exhausted with #1, threw up several times in the first tri, and had daily nosebleeds that would sometimes last half an hour or more. With the pgs I've nursed through, I've been queasy but not thrown up, haven't been so tired, and had few nosebleeds. And the breast symptoms have been less, but that's normal, since my breasts don't need preparation if I'm already nursing.

I was just about to post this question myself! Glad you asked it. It's been nice to read the responses. I'll have to check out that book, too.

I'm nursing my baby on demand & he's not eating any solids yet so it's pretty much all the time. My only symptom was some heartburn all night last night. Oh, & I'm a bit more tired than usual but I just attributed that to playing catch up after a few nights of my 3 y.o. & the baby being up alot & not letting me sleep.

I think I'm also due around the 15th or 16th, but don't know for sure since my cycles weren't regular before I got pg again. And I can usually test positive very early. With this pg I didn't get a pos. until I was about 3 weeks past when I expected my period.

I'm still not totally convinced I'm pg, even though the tests say so. The no symptoms thing is wierd. Nice, but wierd.

Congrats on all your pg's, momma's!!

night time

I remember the end of pregnancy as being difficult to get comfortable and sleep. DS still nurses a lot a night. Should I think about night weaning now or does it all just kinda work out?

I don't have a "what YOU should do" answer, but I know that night weaning was important for me by at least the end of this pregnancy. I was thankful that he night weaned right befor we got pregnant (I'm sure that's what brought my fertility back). He still nurses like crazy throughout the day, but I get some solid sleep at night, which I physically need right now.

I know several moms who have tandem nursed through pregnancy and after birth.

I am due Nov 14 and still nursing my 26 month old. She's night weaned but we still nurse several times a day.

Read Adventures in Tandem Nursing. It's really helped me stop worrying and feel a lot better about what we're doing.
