Minoh - howz simon doing?

Just so that you don't feel alone, thought I'd let you know that Aveena hit her 3 month growth spurt a couple of day ago (she's three months today) and she's started the not sleeping thing too. She seems fine during the day, feeding every 3 hrs or so, like before the growth spurt, but her nights haven't gone back yet - Just after I posted about her sleeping for 5 hours too she now only does two, and sometimes 1 1/2.

How is Simon doing? Is he still waking frequently? If he is, I just wanted to let you know that there is another mama awake with you out there. I keep telling myself that it's just a stage and they'll get over it, and I see my friends with babies at a year and think that it's not long until then, and they are growing so quickly.

yeah ava's having sleep issues lately too...but she's not nursing all that much during the day so i'm thinking it's not a growth spurt. maybe teething? or she's just being a diva again. LOL!!

I really love having other Dec mamas to talk to because it helps soooo much to know I'm not alone.

Unfortunately, Simon is still waking frequently. The longest stretch he's been sleeping is 3hrs - I won't complain because that's quite an improvement! But every night it's the same pattern: he goes maybe 3 hrs, then 2, then 2, then every hour til about 7am, when he's up.

I've been reading NCSS and will hopefully implement some of those ideas. I've also been working hard to extend his naps. When he wakes in bed I nurse him back to sleep, or I carry him and try to keep him sleeping longer. I have to say that he's had some nice long naps the past few days, which is a HUGE improvement to his catnaps of the past couple of weeks.

It's been 3 weeks now since that growth spurt but I guess it made quite an impression on his system, because I think some of the wakings are a habit now. I nurse him back to sleep each time, but wonder if we should come up with some other options since he's not always really hungry. Oh well, I know it will pass eventually.

Group hug to all of us tired mamas
