i *really* want to learn to sew. dh is wanting to get me a sewing machine for a birthday present (it isnt till august, but he wants to get it early i think) anyways, i dont want to spend more than we have to. what features are important to have in a sewing machine *for a complete beginner* i am thinking something preetty basic, but with the options to upgrade a little if i end up getting pretty decent at sewing skills. what kind of machine do you have? what do you love baout it? do you dislike anything about it? what would you recommend for me? anyspecific makes/models to stay away from?

I have a HuskyStar 219. I love it. It is the machine i learned on like 3 years ago. and now i have my own business that requires me to sew probaly 3 times a day. I love it.
And it's a great price.
