I totally know that feeling, and i've done this all before!!
*eeek*
I'm trying to nail down birth center stuffs and insurance stuffs right now.
I don't want to go back to where my son was born (long story) but there are several good birthcenters who can bill out of network to my current ins (cigna) which means we'll have to pay like 40%....blah!
Still, better than a hospital birth IMHO.
BUT, one of the centers I was looking at, is VERY close to my work, which would make appts easier on me (I can go during "lunch"...not need a sitter for the baby...etc) AND she's almost approved as in-network for my employer's insurance (united health)
SO, i'm waiting to hear from her, and I emailed my office mgr about switching insurance under the guise about it being cheaper (which it probably will...since we pay "family" rates for 3 people, it's double what the two of us were. According to the rumor mill, insurance here is free...so if they will switch me...that'll help!)
Hopefully they don't have enrollment things (ie, new hire or birth/marriage only) and I can switch. *Crosses fingers*
A fully covered midwife birth would ROCK!!
Last time we got a big discount ontop of the 40% rate, and it was still 1500 bucks. Eep.
Congrats though! Very sticky thoughts for you!
I'm already planning of course, but I can't think the P word until after i'm "late" lol.
If you haven't done one already, I bought one of the new digi tests for this babe (they came out when I was like 6m preg with my son...lol) and the little screen popping up PREGNANT is definately soothing

Trying to squint and justify faint lines just isn't the same
