OMG - it's a TOOTH!!!

Elliot was crazy fussy yesterday... just inconsolable... I remember someone recently mentioned a thread about teething, and thought, well, what the heck... he HAS been drooling a ton lately. So I rubbed around on his gums (which made the crying worse) but swore I felt a little nub... his upper right eye tooth. I had DH rub his gums too without telling him what I'd felt, and he felt a bump in the same place. Sure enough, today, a little white tooth is showing there. It sure will look funny growing in... like a little fang! I can't believe it's here so early (not quite 15 weeks) I know I wasn't an early teether, I'll have to check with my MIL about DH!

Wow! Are our precious December babes REALLY at such milestones already?! My, how the time just flies!

Wow, that seems so soon, though I know their teeth can start coming in this early. I was kind of wondering if Simon might be nearing the teething stage when last week he had really rosy cheeks for a few days. It seems to have gone away, but he's definitely been drooling a lot, too. Gee, I think I can wait for the fun of teething...

rosy cheeks?

Elliot's cheeks were really rosy yesterday, too. Is that a symptom of teething? I didn't put that together (but I'm new to this teething thing... I haven't even read anything about it. I totally wasn't expecting this for many more months!!)

Yes, rosy cheeks, fever, drooling, and of course irritability are all symptoms of teething.

Yup, I just found out about the rosy cheeks being a sign a week or so after I first noticed them. My sister's a doctor and before I knew about the teething connection, she was looking in all sorts of journals to try to figure out what the redness could be due to. She almost had me worried that it was a parvovirus infection. Sometimes it's best to just do a little less research .

My DS has one about to sprout through on the bottom. MIL insists it's just impossible for teeth to be anywhere near time

What an unlikely tooth to come in first!
