I don't necessarily plan on any this time, but if I feel the need for one I don't issues asking for one. Last time it was nice to have the midwife confirm that I was 8cm because my labor was so darn easy that I was kinda nervous that nothing was happening, even while I "knew" I was already 8cm- the VE just confirmed that for me. My first labor was induced, so it was quite different!

I'm not sure I believe it matters. My MW checked me this last birth when I started pushing. I was 7 cm. It ddn't matter, he was pushed out within 5 minutes.

It won't let me edit, if I were in the hospital and I started pushing at 7 I know they would have tried to stop me.
