Ideas on making a nursing "bib"?

Yeah, the title pretty much sums it up.

My sil asked me to make a nursing bib for her friend (who just had a new baby). Sil used to have one but lent it out and never saw it again. I vaguely remember it, so its hard to make one from memory.

Does anyone have any ideas or have seen a website with them? Anything?

TIA!

Here's a simple, basic free online pattern that you can adapt from:

I would do things like add a pocket on the outside, extend the neckline and maybe sew mesh around the top for "breathability" and so I could see the little one. Doing a simple search online for "nursing bib" or "nursing cover/blanket" should yield results with pictures (they'll most likely be for sale, but you can look at them for ideas).
A simple, no-sew idea is to use elastic clips (like the types used on mattresses to hold down sheets) with a ready-made blanket. I'm bad at explaining things at 2am, so here's a picture of what I mean:

Hope this helps you a little!

Thank you so much!

Those clips are pretty cool - what a great idea! Of course, I'm done nursing when these neat things are out there....

I love the idea of the clips, they look so cute and relatively easy to make. Added bonus is you can change the blanket out to match your clothing or for cleaning etc.
I too find that I usually discover things right after I don't need them anymore, hehe! Pain in the *ahem*, but there's always next time!
