Do I have what I need for the new baby?

I did'nt cd my first ds from birth so I'm just not sure if I'm ordering enough. I wash everyday because we have a small washing machine and we hang dry.

I'm getting:

18 infant IPF's
12 flats
hanging diaper pail
3 tie nappy's
a dozen wipes

I already have:
6 flats
6 bumgenius to be shared between my toddler and the new baby
8 wipes

I am making:
about 5-7 wool soakers (depending on how much I can finish before he gets here).

So what else do I need or should I get more of? I'm pretty simplistic so I don't want a bunch of extra stuff that I don't really need.

Congrats on the new baby!

I'm CDing a newborn for the first time (used sposies with DD#1), and have found that the one thing I needed more of was cloth wipes. We started out with 30 that I had bought, and I ended up making a dozen more. I would like to have even more than that - LOL! We do laundry every other day, and we tend to use 2-3 wipes per change. NBs poop so often, and it's so messy!

We did cd our DD from birth and fwiw, here's what I think!

24 diapers was not quite enough. We were really happy with 36.
4 covers, definately not enough. 6 was okay. 8 would have rocked!
3 diapers with easy closures was great for middle of the night changes. 6 would have been better.

We had 3 dozen wipes and once or twice got within a half dozen only in the pile. You can never really have too many wipes. They end up all over the place because they are so useful!

Have fun! Little tiny bums are SO cute in cloth!

(just to add, our primary system was prefolds and covers. We would have been fine with 4-6 covers if we had been using primarily fitted diapers of some sort I think)

since you are using wool soakers, I would fasten the dipes to minimize breastfed-poo-stains. Once the wool is messy with poo, you can't reuse it...it will then need to be washed and dried which can take while.

So I would get snappis or pins, whichever one you are more comfortable with. Also I would use a jellyroll prefolds fold when fastening them....
I don't have a link...maybe someone else will. You might be able to google it. It's also called the newspaper fold I think.

That said, I would get more wipes for sure and maybe a few PUL covers...maybe proraps since they seem to be cheap and very good at holding in the poo explosions.

Thanks! So more wipes....I forgot to add that I already have snappi's.

What's a good fitted diaper for nighttime use....preferably a one size?
