NICU reunion?

We just got a postcard in the mail inviting us to the NICU/level II reunion next month. Im debating on whether I want to go or not. DD was there for 4 weeks when she was born, but it was about 15 months ago. I dont know if anyone would remember her, or if we would even remember any of the nurses. (Most of that time was just a blur)

Has anyone ever been to one before? What is the purpose of going? If you've been, can you tell me a little bit about what went on? Thanks!

I've never heard of it before, interesting. I don't know if I would go though, there were only a couple of nurses I would like to see again. I know what you mean about that period being a blur, sorry I'm not a lot of help. I see your location is Beaufort, I lived in Yemassee, when my mom was stationed at the naval hosp. there. Small world.

I've never heard of that. Seems to me it could perhaps be a morale boost for the NICU nurses, who tend to see the babies only when they are at their sickest/weakest, right? I'm not sure what's in it for the returning parents though.

I've never been to one, the NICU dd was in had one about a year after she came home and I would have loved to have gone and seen her nurse ( her) but we don't live near there anymore.

Thanks for the responses, I think we might go ahead and go. They are going to be having a whole carnival type thing going on, so it might be fun. I'm really hoping the baby that was accross from my daughter will be there, I want to know if she is ok!
