Funny you should post. I just tried on my regular pants after 2.5 weeks PP, and it was appalling!! I've been wearing yoga/exercise pants for weeks and I'm tired of it, but not one pair of my old pants will fit on this body. I can't bring myself to wear maternity pants though...belly is just floppy and weird, but not pregnant shaped at all anymore.

Well my baby is 7 weeks old and guess what I am still wearing?
I got some $ for my birthday so I plan to get some new clothes as soon as my kids are not sick. Havent barely left the house in 2 weeks...

I don't know. I refuse to wear maternity tops. Even though my regular shirts are a bit small. Fornunately, I bought some larger regular pants to wear during maternity that seem to fit. So far I feel lucky about this.

I told DH that at 1 week PP he is taking me to the thrift store and buying me two pairs of jeans and five shirts With DD I wore my maternity clothes to my 6 week checkup because nothing else fit.

Buying a few things that actually can do wonders for the PP self-esteem. I just refuse to buy new, because they won't fit for long!

My PP belly fits just fine into my materinity pants. I think I'll keep them for a while. It's still pretty cold here.

I bought a whole bunch of nursing clothes on eBay before Ivy was born, and I've been having fun trying them all on. Mostly still too cold to wear most of them, though. I have two Glamourmom tanks; they are great!

I'm not part of your DDC, but I wore my mat clothes until 10 weeks postpartum when I went shopping and bought a few pairs of pants two sizes bigger than my prepregnancy size. Kinda sad, but I'm coming to terms with it. Hopefully, walking my dog and impending nice weather will help encourage some healthy weight loss.

I just had my mom bring my non-mat stuff upstairs today (15 days pp). I fit into pants one size bigger than usual -- and I'm only 5 lbs over my pre-pg weight! Normal shirts fit fine. I plan to wear some of the less-ridiculous mat pants around the house for a little longer, though. I have some drawstring pants that fit surprisingly well. I still haven't healed totally from tearing and don't want to wear anything tight-ish unless I have to.

With my first, I wore maternity until 2 mo. pp when I went shopping and got a bunch of one-size-too-big clothes. I was about 4 mo. pp before my former size fit again.

Jumping in from November... Last preg, I was wearing maternity pants (without a panel) for a few months, then one day I finally sucked it up and bought a size bigger than I wore pre-preg. Let me tell you, I looked SO much thinner in pants that fit instead of maternity pants! My DH came home and noticed right away too, and told me how great I looked! So yeah, they were bigger than pre-preg size (I never got to pre-preg size, and now am preg again... I seem to be one of those that gains weight while breastfeeding , but they made me feel alot better about myself because I didn't look as fat as I did in maternity pants!

So definitely go get some cheap pants of some sort, even if they're not the size you wore pre-preg. It will make you feel so much better about yourself.

Thanks everyone for responding, and your all so right! I am going today to buy a few pairs of pants that I am sure will be one or two sizes bigger then PP size, but hey, what can one expect. I am surprisingly ok with that...lol..I will say though that I was "almost" able to fit into a pair of PP overalls last night..ALMOST...LOL....I am actully realyl excitied about my shopping trip today, I think it will do wonders for the poor ego.
*smiles*
plus its cool having some amt clothes that are mat clothes but dont look like mat clothes...I remeber with my first the only mat clothes you could find had a panel. This time around I have quite a few pants with no panel...*sm,iles*

I'm still wearing yoga pants, etc right now (13 days pp). I don't really like jeans anyway, and my belly is sooo....pudding-like right now that I'm just more comfy in some really nice yoga pants, etc. I'm really feeling great, though, when is everyone starting back to exercising?

I'm still wearing maternity clothes. I am sure I will be for a while. I tried on my "too big" jeans (always baggy) and they fit. : Albeit depressing, it's still early days and I think I'll go pick up a few things in a size or two bigger to make me feel better.

Anyone thinking about doing restorative exercises, yet? I'm going to wait until at least 4 weeks PP, but I really need them. My whole body feels out of whack. Fortunately my doula is trained in "ruckbildung" (restorative exercises) and is paid by insurance. I go to the chiropractor tomorrow... my SPD is still not so hot. I hope this helps.

I had refused to buy jeans post-college because I was bummed I didn't fit into 8's anymore. 2 months after my son was born, I bought jeans (in 12) and didn't feel bad about it because at least I had a baby as an excuse then. After a year bf'ing, I was nearly back into 8's before getting pregnant again. Also, at a year, the baby-chasing burns calories too

I can already see myself losing weight. I don't have a scale, so I have no idea how much, but it's a bit scary. I was really hoping to hold on to some of it since I was so underweight. PP belly is shrinking slowly. I have lots of stretch marks. I'll be curious to see what happens to those. I sure hope I can fit back into that box of size 8 pants again someday!

I'm wearing mat clothes right now at 3 wks pp exactly. I didn't gain any weight until almost 6 mths pregnant and then gained almost 50 lbs. I've got 30 left to lose. I've got a feeling I'll be wearing mat clothes for a while lol.

Granted I'm still pregnant, but I decided (stupidly) to unpack all of my pre-preg clothes yesterday to gain access to all my shirts. I can't even get my jeans on past my KNEE! They are all size 3 I have a feeling I'm not going to be wearing those again for a LOOOOOONG time. It took over a year to get the weight off after DD. I forgot how depressing this all was
