Homebirth prep- the baking of baby clothes - Page 2

Yeah to what everybody said - just wanted to share that my mom baked clothes, etc. for MY birth in the late 70's and was quite interested to hear that this wasn't something my midwives required in these modern times!

Must be a local thing. I saw it on several websites/info sheets from different MWs in my area...

We warmed the baby blankets in the oven on "warm", but otherwise we just washed the clothes beforehand. We probably won't even warm the blankets this time because I'm due in August, but the last times in was a rainy October afternoon, and a single digit freezing night in January!! I wouldn't worry about it, as long as the room you're birthing in is nice and toasty for baby. The warm blankets and towels would be nice though, or you could just throw them in the dryer on "touch up/low" to keep them warm when birth is imminent.
