Look what I made!

I am so pleased with how this costume turned out! Dh hasn't been nearly as complimentary as I would like , so I decided to post it to a more appreciative audience.

The skirt was tricky as I had to piece together 16 pieces to make the stripes look right. Dd loves it and doesn't want to take it off! I am so excited to see her perform in her upcoming recital in it. She will most likely be doing a solo unless a partner can be found quickly.

Thanks for giving me a place to show off!

It turned out great! As long you and your dd like it, you are all set.

My dh never seems to get as revved up about my projects as I do, but I rarely get excited about his next computer upgrade.

Thank you ladies!! It was a lot of fun to make!

Tummy, Diaper bag style 1 is my own pattern. I love that bag and have 3 (do I really need 3?? )

Style 2 is Simplicity 5554. I added a shoulder strap w/d-rings and snaps to the bag I made for curlyfry (in mdc swaps set).

Style 3 is Simplicity 5151 view b, I widened the strap and modified it to not be a tie. I had to make a few bags before I got the shoulder strap right.

I am a sewing addict!
Have a great day, hopefully involving sewing!

That turned out really cute! Very nice job on the stripes, I don't think I'd even attempt something like that where I had to match them up. I like how they all seem to tuck evenly into pleats.

My DH is finally learning to appreciate it when I make something - or at least act like it.

Thanks Emily,

It does look like pleats, the look without all the work! The skirt ended up taking 4 yards of fabric! With just enough left over for the ruffle on the shirt and a LOT of odd shaped scraps for my quilt bin. Her ballet teacher loved it and has decided to put 2 more girls in the dance and now needs two more costumes. I am hoping I can get enough of that fabric!

Happy sewing!
