Extra amniotic fluid indicates high sugars?

I know someone who had an u/s and was told this.

Is this true?

I don't know, no one has mentioned this to me at any of the ultrasounds or my OB.

I had extra fluid but my sugar levels were normal.

I was polyhyrdramos and my sugar levels were fine.

I had poly and my sugar was fine, but it is sometimes suggested that hidden high sugar problems are causing a large baby which is producing large amounts of fluid. In my case, I did have the large baby who was probably producing the large amount of fluids, but I did not have a sugar problem.
