DH and I just bought a new house and are moving in a couple of weeks. It's a fairly large house and I'm trying to decide what the best system for cleaning the floors would be. Right now I have a vacuum for the carpet and a regular broom and mop for the hardwoods. I guess I could continue using this system in the new house, but it's kind of a pain because I need a new kind of mop. Also, it is a split level house and I don't fancy carrying the heavy vacuum up and down the stairs all the time. I'm thinking maybe a carpet sweeper for the carpeted rooms and just vaccum on occasion? The other rooms each have either linoleum, laminate flooring, or tile. I've seen the bissel flip its that vaccums and cleans hard floors and considered that, but then I've also seen the Orange Glo floor cleaner thingies that have the reusable pads. I'd probably use vinegar and water with it though instead of the orange glo.
Basically I want to buy the least amount of supplies with the most amount of convenience possible as I have a new baby on the way and a 3.5 year old. I'm not going to have a whole lot of time for cleaning.
So what do you guys suggest?
