Keeper and vaginal trauma?

During my annual, my midwife noted a thinning of the my vaginal walls and has referred me to a gynecologist to have it checked it out. I wondered whether a menstrual cup could cause something like this? I tried a google search, but didn't come up with much. Any thoughts?

Gee, I hope not, because my keeper sure is comfortable and convenient!

Hmmm, interesting. I don't know about the Keeper causing thinning of the vaginal walls. Did the midwife specify that she suspects the thinning is from trauma, or might it be a hormonal thing? Sorry - no answers here, just wanted to respond and hope that the GYN has an easy answer for you. I would be so sad without my DivaCup! Maybe some other mamas have more experience with this. Good luck and let us know what you find out!

I would probably assume the thinning is hormonal. I think if there was trauma, you'd have excess scaring instead of thining. But this is totally a guess, I really don't know.

I would also like to hear what the Ob has to say!

I actually talked to the midwife only briefly; a NP did my annual exam. But the CNP suggested that the thinning was from some kind of trauma. I didn't think to mention the menstrual cup at the time, and it will take 2-3 months to get into the GYN.
