Knit vs crochet

If I can knit, how hard is it to learn to crochet? Dandelion Dreamers has this that I'd like to make for the kiddos. Or would that pattern be too advanced for a beginner? We've got 2 car trips planned in May, and I'm looking for something to keep me busy.

Wow- that looks really cute! Why not just write to the makers and ask them their opinion. They might even have a knit verson of the patterns. But if you are looking for a reason to learn crochet- that looks like a really fun one!

Well, I learned to crochet before I learned to knit but the hardest part about crocheting is tension. Because I crochet, I just automatically held the yarn in my left hand to knit--in the continental style (I'm right handed). I think if you hold the yarn in your right hand to knit--in the American style, it might be a little tricky to figure out how to achieve the right tension usuing your left hand. But crochet came to me much easier than knitting did although many people say the opposite. That project may be a little advanced because it looks like you'd have to do lots of decreases and increases but with practice, becoming an advanced crochetier doesn't take so very long. Maybe the folks selling the pattern could tell you better or offer you support/advice if you choose to crochet it.
