Well, he's almost 3 months old.... - Page 2

Amy, don't worry about the side effects of the meds. The benefit of the med TREMENDOUSLY outweigh any side effects you may have at first. For most people the side effects only last the first weeks. By the time the med really kicks in the side effects are pretty much gone. The only ones that remain for me are the one I mentioned above and sinus congestion which is a rare one for the AD that I'm on. It figures that I would be the one in a hundred who gets it. I get sinus headaches if I don't keep the crud blown out of my nose. Easy enough to take care of. If I do get one, sudafed takes care of it.

My mom and mil are both on AD's. Mil is on prozac. She especially has been really supportive.

I can't wait to hear how you feel when the meds kick in.

I went back and took that questionare answering the questions how I remember feeling before I was diagnosed last summer. Keep in mind that my youngest son was over a year so I didn't answer the questions that related to feelings about the baby. I scored a 70 ! Even without the baby questions.

Then I took it and answered it how I feel now. I scored an 11. The ones that I mainly marked were about feeling irritable, getting angry (I didn't mark anything higher than a 1)-- after all who doesn't. Even a totally healthy person would score around 10.

If that isn't a success story, I don't know what is.

I scored 75! Not good!

I'm glad you have seen such an improvement!

I've seen improvement, too. I can tell by the questions and answers. I still rate in the moderate dept, but the new med is definitely helping!!

I'll have to remember to retake the test in a few months. I'm glad to know there's so much hope!
