hot pack with no microwave

I've been dying to use my herbal hot pack lately but we got rid of our microwave and I have no clue how to safely heat it up, any suggestions?

Oven? Crockpot? Can you explain in more detail what it is? When i think hot pack I think of a cloth full of rice and herbs (rice holds heat well), but it would vary depending on what it's made of...

If it is a fabric bag with rice and herbs-I think you can do it in the oven wrapped in tin foil.

Ithink Pam is right, just don't turn the over up too high Kind of like you would do for a cherry stone animal (have you seen those in the agic Cabin and Chinaberry catalogs?so neat!)

I've done mine in the oven (rice bag w/ herbs). Use a low setting, turn it to heat more evenly, and use a timer so you don't forget it!

The lady selling them at the local Natural Living Expo was keeping hers warm in crockpots between uses (hers were made w/ cherry pits).
