1st and 2nd. I voted for 1st. I have a very hospital-based midwife to thank for my decision to homebirth. She told me there was no such thing as a non-nurse midwife and that homebirths were illegal. She didn't realize that I would ask about that and found out um, not true.
After all of my friends being cut, sliced, diced, and basically treated like crap, I still think about that midwife and thank her for what she did for me.
My second baby wasn't born in a hospital despite having a severe medical condition. He went to the hospital at 5 days old. Knowing what I know now, I still would not have had him in the hospital.
And if I am blessed enough to have more children, I will have them at home.
