We had the same thing. I used oxy clean.. I would saturate the grament in HOT water, then sprinkle the oxy clean granuales onto the spots, fold up the garment for an hour or 2, then run a hot wash load.

Oxy clean has only "bleached" one item of mine, and it was a lime green shirt.. it left blue-ish streaks on it.

I thought I would mention - I have skin reactions to softener of any sort and it is never used on my kids' clothes. I don't know if that helps narrow down where the stains are coming from, as we could be talking different kinds of stains .

We accidentally bleached our carpet by dropping powdered oxclean on it and expecting it to be OK until we vaccuumed it up (which eventually occurred about 3 days later - it was a small spot), and since then, I've been really wary about what I'll use it on. We do still use it a lot, we're just careful to get it off within a pretty short amount of time (48 hours seems way too long to me).

Grease of any kind will do that...be it a milk stain (from the fats) or fabric softener.

I had created a new thread just today about this subject and someone directed me here.
Did anyone sun dry? I almost always have luck with that and all types of stains and it's almost always my first course of action.
Just curious. I think I will take all my stored clothing and relaunder them and sun dry them to see if it helps.

It's really common for stains to show up on stored clothing. For adults it is usually sweat stains, but anything can show up. The worst is when bugs get in the storage area and eat the stained areas.
I figure between dish detergent, oxyclean, and dye, I can re-use anything.
