On the one hand its a bit annoying but I gotta say it adds to the sense that this is a real community. Granted I hope things are back to normal in the morning.

I agree I CAN see the funny side and I can 'lighten up', as I am not here looking for advice. But I can remember how this board helped me so much when my ds was born, and I also remember the frustration.

I am just thinking of the moms who are struggling and come here looking for advice. That made me feel sad that a poor mom couldn't get the help if she needed it.

Yesterday I had ten minutes in an otherwise hectic and exhausting day to spend on Mothering. It would have been the most relaxing ten minutes of my day--if I hadn't spent all of them figuring out what was going on and then trying to read backwards and find my forums. (Unsuccessfully, as it turned out.) It was frustrating to the point of tears.

It's fine to play an April Fool's joke--the auto-reply engine bit was funny--but making the forums user-unfriendly on purpose was over the top. I hope none of the many people I have recommended MDC to lately chose that day to check it out.
