Hey gals, have you checked out www.wonderbabydesigns.com? Robyn makes the very cool Poquito pants... they're like baby underwear, we have two of them... wonderful, flawless work.

Anyway, she just re-did the site and has her EC journal up & all kinds of great links! I just had me-self a good read.

I'm going to go check out the link, thanks Jess! I'm looking for crotchless fleece pull-on pants for Kenny in 3-6 months. Hmmmm . . . wonder if she sells those.

BowenTherapist, I looked at that sling link and liked that carrier. I would have ordered one, but it looks like somewhat the same design that tabitha is sewing up for me. Well, slight derivations, but I love the 'terracottage' name. My second favorite color in the world is that wonderful rust, terracotta!

I wish the pics were bigger on the descriptions on that site though!

Email her, I bet she could whip some up for you.

Come to think of it though... isn't there a gal on WAHMblin who has a website to make crotchless pants?

I don't know Jess, but then my husband made a good point tonight. He said, "Ummm Heather . . . what's the deal . . . isn't it a few seams and some elastic?" Er . . . um . . . is that what my Kenmore is for? :LOL
I'm getting lazier in my sewing with each child.

Question I hope you don't mind: What does EC actually stand for? I know what it is, but don't know what words the letters represent. Thanks- I've been curious for a long time!

LOL, Heather! I wasn't going to say anything since you always say you don't want to or don't sew. I've made crotchless pants and they are super easy... so has Shannon C (I think that's her name) on this board.

EC is "elimination communication", do a serarch for that phrase in the archives, you'll get a ton of info

EC Products

Robin is on hiatus from making Poquito pants, last I heard. She was overwhelmed with orders and I think wanted to take a break.

Crotchless pants... well, this is the only link I have for EC friendly products, if Robin isn't up anymore:

Word of advice:

Do NOT type in "crotchless pants" into a search engine. :-)

Don't say I didn't warn ya....

Blessings!

Ahleemah

(edited to remove any trace of my mercenary nature.. MUAHAHAAAAAA!!!!)

Thanks, Moonbucket. I never would've guessed that one!

Okay, so I know this is going to sound stupid and all, but do you have to 'hold open' the opening or does it naturall pull open . . . if so, how did you finish out the opening?? Where does the opening begin and end?

Oh, and the big question. How do you deal with diapers - or are these only worn without diapers? If so, how does that work outside of the home setting when there is a hole and that could get slightly chilly without a diaper. The pant seems pointless WITH a diaper!

Yup, I made them too! Not too well, but they worked!

(ok, an aside, do you know how nice it feels to see your name in a post and think "hey, someone knows me!" LOL! Thanks Jessica )

Heather, I would only use them around the house. They do not absorb anything since they're just pants. Also, yes, it can gap which could be interesting if you're, oh, say, grocery shopping or having dinner at the inlaws They do naturally open when the child squats or is held in a squat. When ds wears the ones I made him and I hold him under his thighs to set him down, the fabric pulls apart, but I also make an effort to pull a bit just for extra measure. And when he sits on the BB, it holds the fabric aside so it's never gotten wet on. Wiping poops is harder than when the kid is nakie, but it's still do-able.

Oh yea, I knew they didn't absorb anything - heck, it is fleece, the urine would just wick right through, :LOL but I didn't 'get' whether they were worn with dipes or without when out and about (if used out and about). Didn't want my little one's privates all shrunk up to his belly button from the cold ! :LOL

Thanks for the poop-wiping lesson . . . I guess I'd have to go with the flow on that one, because Kenny will often do both at the same time and sometimes the poops are unexpected and quite explosive. If it is pulled (gaped) open . . . it probably wouldn't get the pants dirty though!

ShannonCC . . . I KNOW YOU!

I think our very own mrzmeg is starting her own wahm business selling ec pants - check it out! She's not open for sales yet, but her site is up.

edited to remove a link you don't want to click any more!
