Cleaning Pergo, baby's head, etc kinds of questions

I am getting into the cleaning green mode. I recently bought some Dr B soap and ordered some foamer bottles off of eBay. The soap I bought is the TTO Dr B and I was wondering would that work on DD (6mos) head to get rid of her scaly scalp- cradle cap? I would dilute it heavily of course.

Also, I have Pergo flooring in the kitchen. The cleaner I am currently using (industrial) makes my lungs cry for mercy. What is the best way to clean a Pergo floor- can I use the Dr B, or what do you guys recommend?

I have to get me a copy of Clean House, Clean Planet!

TIA!

Diluted, watery baking soda helps with cradle cap, I hear. You can put the baking soda and Dr. Bronner's together probably.

As for Pergo - you need to get a pH neutral (neither too acidic, or too basic) cleaning solution. Pergo has a wear-layer on top (a thin clear layer for protection) that shouldn't be scratched or etched by cleaners, or else it will look cloudy and dull and will collect more dust in its scratches.

When looking for a green floor cleaner, make sure it is mild/pH neutral.

Accidentally ran into another solution for cradle cap:

Cradle cap

Massage scalp area with pure olive oil, leave on for one hour, then comb with a fine toothed comb.

I second the oil and combing suggestion. I did that with dd. We used almond oil, though as it is lighter. Less soap, rather than MORE is the answer. I found the more i shampooed dd's hair the worse it got. Now I water-wash her hair and it works great. She is almost 2 and has fabulous hair. You would never know we don't shampoo it. To water-wash get the hair thoroughly wet. scrub well with the pads of your fingers. comb through to get flakes off the scalp. After a while no more cradle-cap.

good luck.

Yep. Us, too. I've never used anything but vinegar and water and our floors look great!

That settles it! Vinegar and water for the floor.
As for DD head, I tried the olive oil thing tonight. I just combed and comed. I also did not wash it out. I just left it in and rinsed her hair a bunch of times. I thought maybe the shampoo was drying her scalp out and making it worse. She's in bed now, but I cna't wait to see how it looks in the am. Thanks for all of your input!

about the cradle cap, I found a lice comb to really help, got all the flaky bits right out! A lice comb is a VERY fine comb.
