I use Nearsea Naturals for organic flannel. They have lots of other types of fabric as well...and the usually run around $9+, and offer discounts when you buy more.

Two more:

http://www.punkinbutt.com/all_natural_fabrics_hemp.asp
What are you going to make, or what exactly are you looking for? Different suppliers carry knits versus wovens versus upholstery weight, for example.

Right now I'm looking for oc fleece, but I'd like to have a list of retailers to refer to when I need other organic fabrics. Thanks!

Alice, lots of diaper WAHMs sell OC fleece on their sites, so you might want to go through that list of organic diapers that you keep and check for fabric too.
Otherwise for the best prices you can look at yahoo co-ops, the diaper-sewing co-ops have OC fleece all the time.
If you were looking for wovens to make napkins or something, I would suggest sticking to the big three names in organic fabrics: PM Organics, Nearsea Naturals, and OrganicCottonPlus. But lots of the smaller companies who sell organic fabric products seem to sell the fabric too, I am sure the costs they have tied up in fabric inventory is huge and selling the yardage on the side helps with that, I imagine. I haven't ordered a lot of organic fabric online, but I seem to google obsessively and this is what I have observed. I would love to sew everything my family needs myself from organics, what a dream!
scrapadoozer, you are welcome. I love that site too.

| That's exactly the kind of site I'm looking for! I'll go through the list one by one, but if you know any off the top of your head that have organic fabric yardage, maybe you can give me a short list |
I am losing it, I swear.

Alice, as the queen of organic cotton diapers, do you have favorites among the different OC fleece used in all those diapers? Like, for instance, I really really liked the old OC that Fireflys were made with, the new fleece is softer but bags out more when wet. And the Bottombumpers fleece seems to be a looser knit as well.
Just wondering.
I wish it was easier to try before you buy, especially on co-ops.

I know! What I did for my first order is I figured out what wahm was using an OC that I liked then I looked for her on the co-ops. I felt like a stalker, but with a good cause.
But I still didn't really get what I wanted. I mean, it's fine, I'm using it, but it isn't perfect. Probably because most of the wahms seem to have OC supply issues themselves.- Sustainer

Yeah, I should probably just email the WAHMs who make my favorite diapers and ask them where they get their fabric.
