40+ and TTC SPRING on over!! - Page 4

Thanks Lisa. I am gonna leave it like it is. I think day 11 is closer to right anyway and frankly I was a bit worried about O-ing early.
My DD had a dance competition yesterday.

CD 9, fertile mucus and dh is asleep! : And he's going to be out of town from CD 11 to CD 18! Oh well.....

massagin - how are you feeling? This must be the only forum where people's complaints about feeling sick are greeted with excitement!!!

I can't believe Nadia's 45 - in my mind she's still 16!

I am feeling regretably well. LOL MY BBs are a little sore. But other than that nothing. My birthday is tomorrow, I will be 43. FF says I can test on the 14th LOL I think I may wait until the 10th at the latest as that is when AF is due.

Folaboye,
Welcome..I have a brother & my dad in Chicago & used to live there myself..Rogers Park-years ago. Hope you O soon!

Summermom..hoped you popped your DH on the head & woke him up!~

Updates all! I am either 7-8 dpo...just guessing as I did no pre-o OPK's & haven't temped this month.

Take care,

Thank you. It means a lot to have women in the same stage of life as me celebrate and wish me well in the coming year. to all of you.

Happy Birthday Laurie! Yes, isn't that something, to know that the people who are wishing you happy birthday share your dreams and hopes and really understand what this means to you? I will be 43 in October.

No, I didn't wake dh up the other night, but I told him he owed me one before he went out of town so yesterday afternoon he left work early, took a shower and hopped into bed waiting for me at 1 o'clock in the afternoon!

It was only CD 11 but the fertility monitor said I was at peak fertility, so here's hoping!

BTW, dh LOVES the CBE fertility monitor because it will cut down the # of days he has to have sex - he said if it works he will personally write the company a letter of thanks! : What is wrong with this man? Aren't women supposed to be the ones saying "honey I have a headache"?

If I ever have another child I will name him or her something that means "victory", because man, this is some struggle!

I love the idea of 'Victory!'

I too like the fertility monitor, after 2+ years of hard core TTC, a person could get a little tired. Now I know when to BD exactly, it narrows the window for me.

Hi all! I'm not dead (just 42 ). No, seriously, I hang out over at the ttc after loss thread w/ all the young mamas! We've all gotten close from being on the P&L forum. Anyway, for the first time in many years, I have to try not to get pg . My gallbladder is acting up (multiple stones). I have been managing to feel okay by just eating way less food. Upside is, I've lost 16 lbs. I am going to need to have the gb out, but it gets complicated. I had umbilical hernia repair surgery w/ mesh inserted when I was pg w/ dd#4. They may not be able to do the gb surgery laparascopically bc the mesh might be in the way. The surgeon thinks they probably can, but can't promise. If they have to do it the traditional way, I'm looking at 4 days in the hosp, 10 days no driving, and 6-8 wks recovering . I've got 4 kids, one of them graduating hs in June. My youngest is a holy terror (4 yrs old). I just don't have time for major surgery, kwim? Anyway, I am determined not to get pg before I get the gb out (I'm thinking maybe July for the surgery). That would just make it too complicated. And I have heard of ladies getting their gb out while pg, but after 4 mc's, I wouldn't dream of having surgery while pg. So while the old clock is ticking away, I can't get pg!

Anyway, that's what's going on with me. I hope you all don't mind my lurking, and just checking in every few months. I already spend way too much time on MDC . Good luck to all you ladies ttc!

No LH surge?

Ugggg. This ttc stuff is really something. On Saturday, I had some spotting with my CM (but not stretchy stuff). On Monday night I started to have stretchy CM, which lasted on and off til last night. Haven't detected any today. Still haven't had a positive OPK, though. I'm on CD 14 and usually surge by now. So I had purchased 2 ICI specimens, and used one on Tuesday morning with fertile CM and one last night at midnight when I feared the EWCM was departing. I hope I did the right thing. Prior to Tuesday, my temps were in the range of 97.6 to 97.9. I had a temp of 98.2 on Tuesday, a low temp yesterday (97.5) and a 98.1 today, although today's could be due to not waking up in the middle of the night, like I usually do. I'm not as hungry as usual this morning, and just now felt a bit of nausea (not typical for me).

I'll keep testing with the OPK to see what happens, and watch my temps. I'm just a bit annoyed that the OPK wasn't positive yet, although I was happy with the fertile CM. Thanks for listening.

Any thoughts????

Liz, the gb surgery doesn't sound like much fun. When are you planning to have it?
liz have you looked into other options like acupuncture and nutritional/naturopathic alternatives. Having your gallbladder out is not always the answer and a good percentage of people are not helped by it. Chinese medicine/acupuncture would be very helpful if you are open to trying that.

msGoodbuns Keeping my : for you

My temp was 98 again taken at the right time, so I am keeping yesterdays. My BBs are tender and feel very full. When ds was nursing (he does before bed) it felt more like it did when there was lots of milk there. YK? Normally they are soft and loose (after all they are 43 yo LOL) and now they are full and heavy feeling. I have also been getting strange twinges in them. Hmm I am 9dpo and really thought about testing this morning but decided it was way too early. I may pick up a few tests at Dollar tree today. I think I may still wait to poas until Monday.

Good Day everyones,

I'm on CD30 today. FF gave me green light, and I have slight pain in my tummy (maybe that is the reason) and watery cm(tmi). We: who know 2morrow temp. will increase, today temp. is 97.7 F. This will really be the longest cycle for me.

Thanks, everybody. Laurie, I have not looked into other options. I live in a rural area, and there is nothing in the way of alternative medicine out here. I feel okay as long as I don't eat much fat. I'm losing weight, and that's good. So I can't bring myself to schedule the surgery yet.
