Have aquestion about needles and pattern

I bought this pattern from knit picks. The pattern calls for size 3 circ needles. I do not have any, but I do have some sz 3 straight needles.

This is my fist time attempting lace, and would like it to come out good, as it will be for my mom. Have any of you knitted this pattern? Do I have to have circ's? If so what size? TIA

It says you can use size 3 straight or circular needles. Looks nice, good luck!

They are probably suggesting circulars so the lenghth of the needles don't need to be so long. If you have longer straights you may be able to squish all the stitches on the needles.

Most of my needles are circs or dpns. I don't bother buying straights anymore.
