Christmas stocking....

Is it too early to start thinking Christmas?

has anyone made this stocking? I just love it.... but I don't think I love the rest of the patterns in the book - I hate to spend $30 for one pattern.

That is really cute!! I have made one Christmas stocking so far this year and need to make another in the next month or so. My dad and stepmom wanted them for their birthdays this year.

have you checked your library for the book or have you checked to see if you can get it thru interlibrary loan? Then you'd have the pattern without buying the whole book.

I use the library for knitting books all the time - that way I can see if I like it at all before investing. Sometimes I wait and see just how often I check it out. I thought I loved Alterknits, but I'm just not really interested in knitting anything from it right now. I'm trying to be intelligent about my book buying - if I already have 85 projects lined up with references I have here at home, I don't need another knitting book.

Of course, I'm supposed to be on a yarn fast, too.
