Natural wood cleaner?

Thread Starter
I have some furniture that really needs cleaned. We've run out of Pledge and that kind of thing. Since I'm making a concerted effort to go more "natural" in our home, does anyone know of either a wood safe home-made cleaner recipe or a natural product on the market?

Thanks! One change at a time and we should be a much safer household soon!

You can put Orange essential oil to this recipe. Orange oil has cleaning power and a yummy scent.

Home-made Alternatives

1) Polish with plain olive oil, almond or walnut oil.

2) Polish with food grade mineral oil. Although it is petroleum based it is non-volatile and relatively safe. Available in drug stores.

Furniture Polish Recipe
1 cup olive oil, almond or walnut oil
1/2 cup vinegar or lemon juice

Shake well and apply a small amount to a soft rag. Spread evenly over furniture surface. Polish with a dry cloth.

I use:

1/4 cup jojoba oil
4 Tbsp vinegar
25 drops lemon essential oil

Put in a spray bottle and shake well before use. It
works real good.

And please don't use mineral oil. That is what I used
to use (before I knew any better) and it didn't work
at all. And besides it is not natural, and that is what
this board is all about "Natural Home and Body Care".
And natural is what you are asking for. Try the mixture I
suggested above and I'm sure you'll like it.

I don't use anything. I just go around w/a wool duster. Seems to work fine w/out leaving a build up of any kind.
