tie-dying question?

For any of you moms who have tie-dyed baby clothes, what kind of dye do you use? Any time I've tie-dyed with Rit, it doesn't seem to stay in very well. I picked up about a million little white onsies at a garage sale, and was thinking it would be fun to dye them.

I use the Rainbow Rock kits from Joann's fabrics. I made some with a kit (light pink, light yellow and light orange) almost a year ago for dd and I and they are still nice looking. I used 2 of the original kits (fuschia, aqua and yellow) to dye a bunch of preemie prefolds, tshirts for both dc and then watered down the rest of the dye in buckets to use for solid color dyeing for some other prefold diapers. That stuff works great! Just make sure to wash it about 3 times before use (vinegar in the rinse works great to set the color too).

I use the fiber reactive procion dyes from Dharma Trading Company. Check out their tie-dye info page here: http://dharmatrading.com/html/eng/529065-AA.shtml They sell kits & stuff too.

I used dye from a mail-order outfit called Pro Chemical & Dye Co., you could probably find it online. The dyes were FAR superior to RIT and the color lasted for years and years and years! They have good kits for tie dying or any other dying projects.
