Putting in a drawstring

Thread Starter
Okay, here's an embarrassing question, seeing as I've been knitting for over a year now. I'd like to add a drawstring (I knit an I cord) to a pair of shorts. The thing is, I didn't do anything different when I made the ribbing (no yarn overs or holes or anything). Is it going to be impossible to thread this I cord through (it is only 3 stitches)? Is it going to look wonky?

No it shouldn't look wonky at all.

I just thread my i-cord in every purl in 2x2 ribbing (kk, pp).

Hope that helps

I think it will look fine

I was wondering this too. My grandma suggested sewing (with a sewing machine and thread) a buttonhole, then cutting out the middle, and that would create a safe hole for the drawstring to thread through. (We were talking about a felted bag I'm working on.)

Good luck!
