Oh, I think I am your newest fan. I really friccin' enjoyed your writing.

Hilarious beyond compare. Please give a copy to your regular doula and ask her to find a new backup. Next time perhaps you will consider sending MIL and the kids to her house?

What a great birth story!!! And what a dumb rule (no eye ointment unless physically restrained).

You're killing me!

THanks so much for sharing.

Oh man, the scary doula and the MIL smoothing everything! Great story! You're an awesome story teller!

That was such a great birth story- I loved the MIL smoothing things in the background- I swear- the way you tell it it's comedy material.
Now, did you have that sense of humour WHILE you were birthing, or only in retrospect?? This is the first serious-but-light birth story I've ever read- and it shows such a unique perspective!! Loved it- and congrats-

What a great, funny story!! Thank you!

It sounds like your mother in law was talking about a caudal. It is a form of epidural that just numbs the perineum.

hands down, the most entertaining birth story i have ever read!!

sorry your doula sucked.i hope you gave her some serious feedback
post #57 of 88
I love this one!

I don't know if an update to a birth story is routinely requested, but give us an update if you have any new gleanings.

How was your daughter after the birth? Has your MIL thoroughly wiped every surface of your house? Has that doula been shamed into obscurity? Has your original doula begged forgiveness? Has WA changed that silly law?

I hope all has gone well for your family!!!
