help me make socks!!

Ok, so I have some of this yarn.

I have never made socks before (well, I have made a pair of toddler slippers where I have to turn the heel, with a gusset, and all of that, so I know how to do that). But, I have NO idea which pattern to do. The socks will be for my dh, just simple regular socks. Any direction for your favorite all purpose sock pattern?? I want to go and buy my sock needles tomorrow (i don't have any needles smaller than 3 right now). I am very excited about starting the socks, but I want it to be a pattern that is tried and tested.

I use 2 size 1 or 2 circulars for my socks, and do them toe up. i don't really follow a pattern, though it is roughly similar to the "2 at a time toe up" pattern on knitpicks... except i don't do two at a time. (and unstead of the afterthought heel i do a gusset and picking up stitches now).

i LOVE socks with 2 circs.
