What is a "kitchen witch"?
Things like sweeping out negative energy while sweeping or vaccuuming the floors.
Adding 'love' to things that i cook.
Things like that. It's actually a lot like what was described in the 'mothering as a spiritual path' thread--everything has the potential for being spiritual in nature... even washing the dishes .
From the time I heard the term kitchen witch I knew that was me. I could only guess what it meant (and I was right,) but I knew that if I wasn't living that way already, than I wanted to be.
I do consider myself a kitchen witch, but I would like to do more in the way of magikal cooking. Does anyone have sugestions?
Served with soba noodles, wasabi and pickled ginger.
Caulifower soup from Feeding the Whole Family, with dulse and almond butter in it.
I always make homemade chicken noodle soup when people are sick. Add parsnips and lentils, sometimes barley.
Tension Tamer Tea for my spirited friends and family.
I baste salmon filets with bourbon and sprinkle it with brown sugar, then bake it. Great with sweet potato fries.
Salads with everything. Different greens. Raisins. Apples. Chick peas. Olives. Mushrooms. Artichokes. Avocado. Sunflower seeds. (I can't eat tomatoes or peppers, so I have to be creative.)
I find stirring a pot of anything good is very meditative. I like to fill the house with good smells. Garlic. Vanilla. Lemon.
OK, gotta go eat!
It's a love story, and the main character was brought up in the kitchen with the cook. Her beau is given to her sister to marry, and...well, you'll just have to rent it and find out the rest. But she is a kitchen witch if I ever saw one, she cries into the wedding cake batter and makes everyone at the wedding sick with memories of lost loves. She actually nurses her nephew and keeps him alive, which is really cool, that's how I learned women could lactate even if they never had children
My mother got EDMW through Columbia House Video. I'm sure they still have it.
I found a kitchen witch utensil holder thingy at goodwill. I had no idea what one is but it looked interesting so I bought it. My husband thinks it's creepy and that spirits and ghosts are going to start following us home from goodwill now. I don't cook from scratch enough so maybe this will inspire new creativity in the kitchen?
Anyways, both movies mentioned in this old thread are available to watch free with amazon prime. I am excited to watch them!
