sophie weighed 10lbs 2oz 2 1/2 weeks ago i figure she must be about 11lbs by now maybe a little more and she is is now 4 1/2 months!!

there is just such a huge range of normal and healthy babies

i dont think doctors can cope with that and want them all the same othewise they get all confused!!

Luka is 17 lbs. and 24" at 3.5 mos. His big brother was only 18.13 at his 1 yr. checkup, but was 27" at 3 mos... they are so different! Of course, my "underweight baby" is now an "overweight" 3 yr. old, still on mama milk and a junk-free, vegetarian diet.

My Carys is just over 3 months (she turned 3 months on March 29). This past week she weighed in at 14 lbs 11 oz and 24 inches long. She's sooooo chubby and has dimples everywhere. And she's only ever had breastmilk.

DS was in the 5th percentile for what seemed like ages. But my badge of honor was that he never lost weight right after birth or ever but just kept gaining! We breastfed exclusively for a year and didn't really stop....ever. He had some this morning.

My boy is a good 15+ lbs by now (just over 3 mos) and hasn't had anything but baby food, oops I mean breastmilk. Why do some people think mama milk isn't food??

Someone at the store last week said, "Oh, what a Gerber baby." My response? "Gerber has nothing to do with it!"

I belong to a mother's group IRL, mostly mainstream types who think I'm nuts to be co-sleeping, ECing, not giving bottles of EBM, and babywearing (no stroller!), not to mention living on a sailboat. As the babies hit 4 mos they're talking about weaning at 6 mos. Funny thing is, I met these women at a breastfeeding support group!

I'm SO appreciating my ped. right now! DS was 4 months on the 4th and weighed in at 22 pounds! The doctor asked if he was exclusively breastfed and says "Wow, good work mamma." and cracked a joke about when the day does come that I decide to give him solids he'll probably be a chow hound. No pushing solids or anything. He's originally from India so the concepts of babywearing, breastfeeding and co-sleeping are perfectly normal to him!

Wow! My kids don't hit that weight until well after their first bdays!

What size is he wearing?

He's into about 9mo size clothes a couple 12mo items. It's funny because he's got such a robust middle, but his arms and legs aren't quite as long so a long sleeved onsie will fit his torso, but the sleeves will have to be rolled up twice.
