I can't Believe it!!!!

We went in for Ds2's 4 month check. We went through the normal stuff. He weighed in at a whopping 16lbs, and Dr says he is very healthy. As we were going over the referall stuff (ds has tortocollis and needed a referal to a chiro) I noticed that the Dr was wearing a pro intactness awareness bracelet. How cool is that? I already knew I was super lucky to have him. He is very pro-breastfeeding, even past infancy, and he has never given me problems about not vaxing. But I never reallized how very cool he really is. He is somewhere in his 60's I think. He was my pedi when I was a kid and I don't know what I will do if he decides to retire.

That's really cool. You got a good pedi there.

I love hearing stories about great ped's! They help keep me from becoming entirely cynical about the health community. Congrats!

That is wonderful!!! Way to go ped!

It was grey and it said "ban routine infant circumcision" I didn't even think to ask him where he got it. I will have to next time I am in.

That is awesome! Don't let him go. And please do find out where he got that bracelet!

I have been thinking about having some made but just dont have the money right now. there r a few places on the net that make and sell them pretty cheap. I figure selling them would b pretty easy to do. I would like one that was laser etched instead of just printed on to match my others. Bfing and breastcancer awarness.

Did you tell the doc how COOL the bracelet is!!!!

I had to look at your profile to see where you lived.... just in case this was a doctor in my state. Oh well.

Thanks for sharing!

Ohhhh I would love to have one that said that. I have one of the ones that say Stop Circumcision but I don't entirely agree with it because it doesn't specify RIC.

That's awesome! I wasn't expecting anything like that when I opened this thread, so it was a pleasant surprise.

Sounds like you have a great Pediatrician!

THANKS!!! I'm buying one. The problem is, here in Canada we don't have dollar bills anymore, but dollar coins (the Loonie). We have a $2 currency, too as you may know, but over a decade ago when we abandoned the dollar bill, we shortly after abandoned the $2 bill, too. Since the bracelets are $2 each and I don't think they'd know what to do w/ a Toonie (the $2 coin), I'll buy 2 bracelets totally $4 and mail them a $5 (Cdn) bill. The extra dollar should make up for the exchange rate difference.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toonie

P.S. I also went to the their awesome-awesome intactivist shop and bought a nocirc button and a bumper sticker!

Just wondering if there's any information where to get a bracelet like the doctor has yet?

I did a google search but came up empty.

A doctor advocating an outright ban...

Now there is progress.

I asked him and he said that he got it at a pediatric confrence from a group of dr's against circumcision. I am just blown away by how cool that is. This means that there is actually a group out there working to educate and recruit Dr's to fight against unnecessary circs.

As for getting a bracelet, I found a seller on ebay who makes custom silicone bracelets with whatever saying you want. I got one that says Take the Whole Baby Home. Say No! to Cicumcision. They are more expensive than the Stop Circumcision bracelets, but were reasonable and worth it to get the saying of my choice. They are cheaper if you want to order more than one.
