i'm going to be trying out wraps for the stainless steel lunch kit. the bag we have is great for it, but i'd like something to keep it cool or warm. i have a pattern for a sleeve that goes around a french press. maybe something like that? dunno yet. if i ever figure it out i'll post pics.

I'm glad you like them! I"ve been meaning to write up a pattern, but haven't gotten around to it. I used this pattern as guide: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter06/PATTslingshot.html

I just swatched and felted, and then used my *felted* gauge and the size of my bottle to figure out how big to make everything. The carrier is made from the handle down, so I just extended it to the length I wanted. I didn't do anything fancy for the bottom, just ran the yarn through the final stitches and drew them together.

You could just make the handle longer if you wanted, and it would work fine to make it unfelted; I just wanted the insulating properties of a felted cover.
