question about making wipes

i have a ton of sheets that i would like to turn into wipes. i don't know what they are made of so i didn't want to make diapers out of them but would it be alright to make wipes out of something that isn't cotton? I am not really sure what they are all but i thought they really don't have to absorb anything so i didn't know if it would be alright

I felt bad that no one replied. Try cutting out 2 or 3 wipes but don't bother hemming them. Use them, and then decide if you liked how they worked.
Helpful? If they are thin sheets, you might want two-layer wipes.

you can use any fabric for wipes if you want. If you can get it wet and it stays wet to wipe with then it should be fine. I agree cut some up see how they work that way you don't do more work than you need to if you don't like them. I would think that sheet material would be too flat or smooth for wiping poop, but may be okay for pee. Let us know how it turns out!

edited to add I make my wipes out of terry and flannel. If it's a print you could use it as an outer on a fitted diaper.
