What do you need?

I just wanted some input on what would make this a more interesting forum. I know I've asked before but I need some real input. Would it be better to have general posting? (opening new threads)? I can't promise that and definately not before the six week workshop ends but would love to have opinions...and more opinions. If you want to do so in a more private fashion then feel free to PM me.

I still lurk, but it's been a while since I posted.

Well, more hours in a day would help.


I like the idea of the workshop, but was actually uninterested in the topic. To me it was the 'same' topic that was approach previously in the only other workshop there was. (and I wasn't very interested in that particular topic then). I just don't have much personal interest in writing basically a birth story... and with my second, well

8pm- tv and pizza on the couch
9:10pm- called neighbor, b/c I think I may be having contractions
9:30 - 9:40- made it to the hospital
10:07pm- had a baby

Seriously, that is about the extent of my birth story in the condensed version, but the longer version.... well, isn't much longer.


I'm not sure what would help. I think trying to open it up to posts, isn't a bad idea. It's been requested before, and I'm not sure the reasoning behind not allowing posts. Do a 3m eval, and if it fails miserably, well, it can always be moved back. Correct?

Maybe a person of the week thing, where a different person opens with a work they did in their favorite, topic or genre and also tells a little about themselves, and then others can add works on that topic/genre.

I would also be interested in joining a workshop if the topic were not limited to birth and the nonfiction experience. Maybe more open-ended prompts?

Thanks fsm, If you look around there are many open ended prompts, also a thread for the 'rebels' who don't like them. I'll put up some more for those of you who don't like the WS topic.
