omg my baby is 4 weeks old today

I am gonna cry..lol...
The last 4 weeks have gone so fast! Its amazing to me how much he has changed...holding his head up, looking around..and two days ago he actully smiled at us and has been doing it everyday!

Ivy is super-expressive. I love the range of emotions she shows on her face. She smiles occasionally but her major outlet of expression is her eyes. Adorable.

She's been able to hold up her head since birth, but still only for a few moments at a time.

Um... she projectile-vomited for the first time today... does that count?

Leo seems to really like "standing" - he tries very hard to put weight on his legs if I stand him up. He springs up and down like a little frog. We bought him one of those doorway mounted jumpers since he seems to get such a kick out of pushing off with his feet, and he took right to it. His head is a little floppy yet but I have a feeling once he can sit all the way up he's going to love that jumper!

No real smiles yet.... I am SO waiting for that! A few sleepy grins but nothing truly social.

Samual was 4 wks on Saturday, he was officially 1 month old yesterday! He has been holding his head up since birth too & he started smiling at us on Sunday! Too cute! The other day I was squeezing my boobs trying to figure out which one to feed him with (guaging the fullness ) & he smiled at me - I cracked up!

He tries to "stand" as well & yesterday I broke out the Gymini & he LOVES it! As a matter of fact, he is currently snoozing under it as I type!

I picked up my pictures yesterday from when he was born, he looks so different already. I'll HAVE to post some, I haven't posted any yet (oh and I got pictures back of my big, pregnant belly, kind of have mixed emotions about them since they may be the last belly pics I ever have.)

Let's see... First time yesterday she held a rattle and didn't know what to do with it except wave it inthe air and then dropped it, LOL She's held and turned her head since birth (which made breastfeeding a challenge). She's starting to army scoot across the floor during tummy time (EEK), gets about a half a foot before tiring out. Oh yeah, the arch thingie with rattles and toys that you place above them while they lay on their back.. she is starting to hit the toys on purpose, although still misses most of the time.

We are getting real good at EC. I can catch almost all of her poos now. She pees too much to catch them all though. She's started respondign to our smiles with smiles of her own 3 weeks ago. She's awake more than asleep it seems.

She's a great sleeper too.. only wakes once or twice for food, if that.. usuallyl just during growth spurts.. well so far anyway.

thats so awesome girls!!! your kiddos are so amazing! are they really out of our bellies ? lol ..it was a long 9 months...but then again looking back..not really.
Oliver , when we were grocery shopping today, actully giggled! I swear it was a giggle...DH thinks it was more of a high grunt..lol..but I am tabling it as a giggle! lol
and his smile...omg so adorable..
I was looking at a few pics from when he was born yesterday as well,*sigh*, he is a different little guy...*sigh*...It hurts me that this is our last babe..I wish it wasnt..but 5 sections is a little much me thinks.

[Birth Junky]

Ilze is getting more alert every week, but is also sleeping longer this week than ever before--yesterday she slept for a 4.5 hour stretch, nursed for an hour, and then slept for 4 hours again!

She smiles a lot in her sleep, but hasn't started really grinning while awake yet . . .

Holds her head up more and more, it seems--when she is laying on my chest she will suddenly raise up on her forearms, turn her head to stare around, wait for a few seconds . . . and then THUNK, her head slams back to my chest again. She's trying to army-scoot UP my chest sometimes as well, although usually it is because I have laid back before she is done burping and she wants to be completely upright again.

Isn't it amazing - my DD is a little over 3 weeks...she's already changed so much!! She's turning into a little pork chop, LOL!! She is also pushing up & looking around & DEFINATLY SMILES ALSO!! (Bah on anyone who says babies can't smile at this age!!!!!) She is also dramatically increasing her nursings, as though she wasn't eating all the time before...well, it seemed she was but NOW I know what "round the clock eating" REALLY is!!

I hear ya on this, but havent you also noticed that there are definite feeding times and sleeping times?
Oliver now nurses like nuts between 9 and 10 and then lies down fr sleep...its 12:30 here and he is still sleeping...and will proable sleep till about 3ish or 4.

Kian was 4 weeks on Wed. He is getting so BIG! You gotta love that army crawl, lol! We love playing the tongue game... I stick out my tongue and then he sticks out his.
