Is VK not hyena anymore? - Page 2

daekini, or other VK users, what newborn covers would you recommend? Keep in mind we do not have a lot of money. I would like to learn to sew and am watching craigslist for a free sewing machine, if our baby is a boy I'll have lots of girl's clothes to ebay and get some extra $, and I may try hand sewing recycled sweater wool covers, but other than that, what affordable premade covers would work well with hers? Thanks

well, naturally VK wool works great, and I got mine for like, um,,,, i think $20? She is very reasonably priced! She stocks them fairly frequently, I'd hold off and wait to buy covers til she stocks some again.

oh, and Fuzeasy/Firefly easy wool covers are a really good fit, you can probably get them here on the TP.

I think some people aren't buying from VK because of the elevated cost of shipping....perhaps a silly reason? I just have read that in some other forums.

shipping from canada is expensive!

I LOVED the VK fitteds I had from Kathleen... her sewing is impeccable! They were one of the firsts I always reached for, and *the* first my 15 y/o brother always reached for until Liam outgrew them (I just can't justify buying anymore new diapers, but I would in a second; her fabric selection can't be beat!)

She did change the design a bit, right? Maybe people are nervous to try them. I just don't need anymore dipes right now. She is probably one of diapering's best seamstresses out there though and has been at it a loooong time. I know she was really big when I started out nearly 2 years ago and had the best fabrics! I think she is trying to make CD'ing more affordable now? That's my guess.

I have one coming in for B (my sis bought it for him) and I can't wait to try it. If it works for us, we'll be back for more. Her sewing looks beautiful and the shipping is actually as reasonable as one can expect, with her shipping from Canada and all.

That's the truth for me. I had several for my last DS and I loved them and I still do. I've wanted to purchase some for the next babe, but the shipping is the killer

I love my VK and I have a ton so I don't need more. But, to just compound what I said earlier, here is some MM, just sitting there, shorts nonetheless, since last night.

That is true..I had some MM shorts sit on the TP for at least 2 weeks. Brand new too.

okay, I get it, I stand corrected... there no such thing as 'hyena' anymore!

I like my VK's a lot... espec my wool cover.

She seems to be stocking her store pretty frequently and heavily over the last few months... so maybe she is selling a lot, but there is so much there that it looks like it is not moving

I got my, I mean Bastian's, VK AIO in today and LOVE it! We not had an AIO that actually works for us before, this does. I'm glad she seems to be keeping stock available. I have to have more and don't want to have to fight for them, lol.

Her AIOs were the only ones that worked for us, too!

VK AIO's (I actually use the AI2's) have been the only AIO's that worked for us with absolutely NO wicking or leaking, they are IMNSHO flawless. I bought my first ones here on the TP 18 months ago and they are still performing so well, and the prints are still so vibrant! (Puffins, Koi and Elephants, btw, whoever sold these to me, I still praise you weekly) I had purchased one recently for my new babe and went to go purchase a lilacs one that had been sitting there, politely waiting for me to save up some paypal, and it's GONE!!! I love that print! I also love that she will sometimes sell her fabric on her site if you want to make something matchy or just fall in love with a fabric.

I own 7 VK AI'2 and I LOVE the prints! My faves are the realistic animal ones! One of them is eagle print and on the butt its got an eagle soaking through the sky and on the front its got the eagle perched and they look SOOO real looking! He always get so many compliments when I take him to the Dr. in VK. They have become our show off diapers although I reach for them even when we have no place to go as well. The shipping is steep and with it being in Canada it seems like the prices of the actual diapers reflect that as well. It obviously hasn't detered me much though
