How do I find a buying club/co-op???

I'm on a quest to slash our grocery bill, and keep hearing people talk about great prices they get in their buying club and/or co-op.

How did you find one?

The healthfood store about an hour away from me orders from one (Ozark Co-op, in Missouri, Arkanasas, and other areas in teh mid south). I got a catalog, and then called to see about getting a delivery set up in my town. It took about a week or two to get it all set up, but now I have a buying club (I invited a few people I knew who bought stuff like that anyway), and we just have to meet our monthly minimum (I think it's $500) and we meet the truck in town. We check off our orders, and then divide it all up. Basically I just have to have everyone get me their orders by a certain date, and I do the check-off when the truck drops the load off (the other mamas meet me there, and help to open and divide the stuff up). Everyone takes their food home, and I call them later when I come up with their totals owed (I have to check their order w/ the invoice, add tax and the coop fee, and shipping). Not everything comes in, so I dont have them give me the money ahead of time. I wait until I know how much they owe me

Depending on where you are, you may be on their drop route

I was coming here to ask the very same question!
We're over an hour from our co-op & we can't afford to drive there every week. We'd also like to find a way to get our stuff at a discount, esp. after seeing how much cheaper you can get the Frontier stuff.

I wish I were out on the west coast for azure standard. I did request info from united buying clubs... but are there any more out there?
