Thanks to a revolutionary new design in nursery chairs, breastfeeding mothers are only days away from feeding their babies in comfort and style. Scandinavian Child combines ergonomics and elegance with the Monarch Nursery Chair, scheduled to hit the market on April 1st.

It is a pretty ugly chair, imo, but then again I do not like all that midcentury modern revival stuff.

http://www.sparkability.net/monuch.html
* A low seat that raises the lap and supports baby, eliminating the need for pillows and footstools, while ensuring that feet remain flat on the floor.
* A gently curved seatback that supports the back and shoulders keeping the spine straight and chest forward.
* An angled seat pad that supports the back of knees and thighs.
* An adjustable lumbar support that increases comfort and support for the lower back.
* A seat with flared sides, allowing ample room for siblings during story time.

No arms?? Dunno without trying it in person but seems to me that my arms would get awful tired with the loong newborn nursing without an arm to rest it on.

who needs a chair, I just lay on my back in the middle of the floor and greg does the rest :

it does look comfy though
maybe I can replace this comp chair so I can better

It doesn't look very comfy to me.

$750 is a lot of money! I have 2 nursing chairs that I love and the total cost for both was ..... $0

SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS?!!?!? For a CHAIR? One ugly chair? YIKES. This ugly chair we got for free works JUST great...

I can't stand arms on chairs, James' legs are too long he can't stretch out.

It's not my style, but I find it encouraging that there are companies out there designing furniture with breastfeeding in mind.

Where are the arms???? I HAVE to have arms if I'm nursing DS - the big lug is too heavy to hold up on my own! Though personally, I don't see what's wrong with sitting on the couch with a pillow on my lap - it's worked for me from day one.

No arms...???
And you know what, I did wipe up bm spills if they were really obvious, but I must've gotten bm everywhere at some point, and it never was really a problem.

I don't think I bothered to wash my Boppy's but maybe 2 times and that was mainly because my son spit up all over them and I had 2 so I could throw one in the wash.

That doesn't look comfy to me. We always nursed in my overstuffed arm chair when J was a newborn. Once she got a little bigger, we could nurse easily anywhere.

I nurse DS in my computer chair, while browsing MDC. I'm as comfy as can be!

Hey, I rhymed!

I love the style, but that's my kind of style. Different colour would be nice though. However, it doesn't look like a comfy bf'ing chair. Awesome that they would make one though!

If you look at the website it comes in about 20 colours.

It is nice that companies are making furniture with breastfeeding in mind but it would be nice if they were affordable to the average mother.

Really I just typed out a reply, hit enter and there was that. Odd.

Anyway, what I was saying is that basically, any chair would do for me, but tthe one necessity for prolonged nursing sessions is arm rests.

Oh, my bad. I didn't dig deep enough.

It would be nice if they were afordable, however, you have to keep in mind that kind of furniture is typically priced that high. That really isn't a pricey chair for the style and maker, kwim?

If I spent $750 on a chair I'd want it to have arms too. Especially early on I really needed arms on a chair. Nursing pillows are too short for me to rest babies on.

If it doesn't rock, I'm not interested, especially at that price.

From my perspective, it's just one more piece of unnecesary and expensive equipment that some moms will think they Need in order to breastfeed, and won't.

it is obvious that a amn whom never breastfed designed that.
