I remember a post here a while back about a Penn and Teller BS episode on circ. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a copy? I got my way, and ds2 isn't circed, but dh still doesn't agree with me that it was the best thing. He acts like he is just humoring me. He always lets me make the major medical decisions about the kids, because I do all the research, and I go all mama bear if he argues, but I would like for him to agree with me. Is that asking too much? He is circed, and I think he doesnt' want to think about what might have been taken away from him. When ever we bring up circ he changes the subject or just says something like "ds2 is going to wonder why he doesnt' look like me and ds1." Ds1 was circed without our permision at the hospital when he was born, but honestly at the time I wouldn't have thought to object to it any way. I think the penn and teller episode might be enough to get him thinking. He really loves BS.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I think it's worth a try to show it to him but if it doesn't work, I would personally let it be. I think it's SO hard for so many circed men to think of themselves as the poor defenseless babies getting cut on, and all that implies - that their penises are missing something, that their parents allowed them to be harmed, that their sex lives and their ability to satisfy their spouses aren't all they should be.
So if you can convince him gently, that's great - otherwise, I wouldn't push the issue too much because you don't want to hurt his feelings. As long as your son is intact, that is enough for now, KWIM? (I'm speaking from personal experience here after many arguments with my dh.)
FYI, you should get your first son's hospital records. You are likely too late to sue now but when he is 18 he can sue on his own behalf. If you get his records now, you will be doing him a huge favor by enabling him to sue his circumciser and the hospital. You could contact Dave2GA (David Llewellyn) to ask if there are any other steps you should take now to make the best case possible (like do a sworn, notarized statement about how you didn't consent - do it now, don't wait, because who knows what might happen between now and then).

I just watched (an illegally downloaded version of) The Circ episode of Bullshit and really can't wait to show my dh. DH is circ'd, doesn't know of anyone who isn't and really doesn't know any other way, but he knows I am adamant that no one is going to mutilate my son's penis (in the event that this baby is male) and there's nothing he can do to change my mind. My compromise is that when said future ds is old enough I will personally pay for a circ if he wants it. But, I think DH will be better able to understand some of my reasons behind saying NO F*ING WAY! to circ by watching this show.
I was dismayed that all of the non-intactivist women they interviewed thought the foreskin was "yucky". I sincerely WISH my dh still had his whole penis. Honestly I'm kinda hoping he may someday decide to fix his penis... not that I've said anything to him about it, not sure how to without making him feel inadequate.

I own a copy but don't know how to copy it. We borrowed an external DVD recorder/burner (MadDog multimedia) from a friend but can't figure out how to get our Lost episodes burned from iTunes onto the DVDs. DH has been trying to figure it out all day, the only option windows is giving us is to record "data" and it isn't working right. If someone could help me figure out how to do the burning I'd love to burn you a copy

Oops, DH just told me the kids busted the DVD, but I'd still appreciate it if someone knows how to burn DVDs. Dang, I can't believe my P&T circ dvd is ruined. It's pretty funny! I bought it on eBay.

Anyone that sent me your address for my circ CD, please send it again. I accidentally deleted all my PMs.

I got a copy (thanks mama) and burned it and dh and I watched it. It was really good, and dh seemed very intrigued. He no longer thinks we made a mistake leaving ds intact, and is considering restoration for himself.
I do have to say, I have never seen a circ performed before. I think if people actually had to watch it being done they wouldn't do it to their children. Talk about barbaric. That was really sick. I like what Penn said about in a country where there was no circ people would be arrested for even downloading the videos of it being done. Wow!

Unless the episode is not protected by copyright, it is not legal to burn and share copies. MDC cannot host discussions about the private burning of copyrighted material.
Thanks for understanding. If you have any questions, please PM me.
