Wiping teeth at night?

Well ds (1 yr) had his first dental visit. He had 2 cavities already:-( They were small thankfully but he had to be strapped into the papoose while the dentist filled it (with non-mercury fillings btw). This board really helped me become more informed when I went into the visit on Friday. I felt more confident esp when I had all the dental assistants surrounding me while I questioned the dentist about his cavities and ds' nightnursing. Thankfully, dentist is a bf advocate...he just asked that I wipe his teeth off with a wet guaze after he breaks the latch at night.

Does anyone else do this with your dc? Does your dc get annoyed? How do you manage to do it and stay asleep? I find that to be really difficult to do.

Make sure they are really out in a deep sleep. I even brush DD's teeth after nursing her to sleep at night. She's pretty out of it, but, it has become a routine, she even spits in her sleep. It's hard at first, but, becomes routine.
