Questions about becoming a foster parent

I would like to look into becoming a foster parent in the future and wanted to know where I should look. I am in SW FL. I'm not even sure that I'd be a candidate, I am a single mom with a 3 yr old son. I am going to be a full-time student pretty soon. I really love children and would like to have more children in my life. I don't forsee myself having another baby any time in the near future. My heart really breaks for children who do not have parents to love them, I've always wanted to be a foster parent.

My professional life was in the child welfare arena, but I don't know too many specifics about fostering in Florida.

I would start by going to the Department of Child and Family Services website for the state of FL and looking around - there is probably a link called "Becoming A Foster Parent" or something.

You could also do a google search for "foster care agencies in Florida" and see what nonprofits you come up with --- I would pick one that the COA has given their stamp of approval to...if you get any further in the process and have a question feel free to pm me as well.
