adjusting pattern for skinny thighs?

How would adjust a pattern to make the diapers fit a baby with skinny thigs? My 3-wk old has a wide belly and little legs, and the diapers tend to gap around the legs. I'm not sure how to correct this. Help appreciated!

I am no expert, but what about either shortening the rise or making the back wings wideR?

and here I have the opposite problem. My dd has huge thighs and a decent stomach at 4 weeks so tightening the stomach is too tight in the thighs. Dipes with two rows of snaps seem to be the most adjustable for these types of issues. I made some of my own out of the VB AIO pattern and that helped.

sew elastic in tighter

Do a side-closure diaper instead of a front-closure diaper. Gives much more variability in fit (to fit both ends of the spectrum).

okay... in looking at them today, i think it would help to add extra elastic to the legs, so that it goes farther into the wings. doing it tighter would also help. and, the side closure does fit alot better!

Yay! So glad you found a solution!

Sorry about the brevity of my last post - one handed typing was never my strong point.

lol... no, I don't do well with the one-handed typing either! Thanks!
