Need to make about $75-100 extra per week

Thread Starter
until June 1st. There's an upcoming trip to Yellowstone to see my family the first part of June. I had accepted a part time job at the school to earn money for this trip, but due to other things (mistakes, misunderstandings ) my paychecks barely covered my childcare expenses. I am not going to be able to open a home daycare or anything like that, as we are moving in June and we live on a military base so there are very specific rules and classes you must take before you can do anything with other people's children. My limit is less than 10 hrs per week of childcare. : I can bake and cook, I've been told I"m pretty good at that, so that's an idea but businesses like that take time and money and word of mouth. I have some ideas, please feel free to make suggestions.

**I have a TON of stuff I need to get organized for listing on the TP.
**I have some stuff that needs to go to Ebay, but I have to enlist a friend's help with that, as dh and I got burned really badly on Ebay and cancelled our account with them.
**I have three children, so it needs to be something I can take them along.
**I am working on fliers to put up locally to walk dogs, etc.

Anyone? Suggestions? Ideas? If nothing else, some prayers.....

I don't know if you take your children to do this but I am sure lots of people would like some extra help spring cleaning or getting the yard/garden ready...

I know you said a whole daycare wouldn't work but how about an extra kid...That should be enough I would think..

Instead of listing all the stuff on Ebay or the Tp...A garage sale perhaps..(How would that work on a miltary base??)

HTH some

Cleaning is a good bet. I'd think you could find 5 people willing to pay you $100 for a day's worth of heavy-duty cleaning. You'd really be much better off doing it solo, though- do you have a partner who can watch your kids evenings or weekends?

You could also think of ways to save money on the trip- I'm not sure where you live, but we're on the other side of the country from Yellowstone and I think we could do it for under $500.

you can mystery shop banks. You're not supposed to take your kids, but that's the one I know abt. Maybe others have diff policies. Here a link to one that does a chain of local to me banks. Google Mystery Shopping and the name of a large chain of bank near you.
The one I'm linking paid 25-50 per shop. Hit 3-4 a wk and you could have 500.00 in a month or less.

I agree with the spring cleaning~ that would be a fast way to make some good money. You could list yourself on Craig's List or maybe ask for suggestions on freecycle.. I have seen people ask for information, etc. on there so you could ask for info on how to get started with a small cleaning business and maybe get a few leads that way

Don't forget to call all the market research and survey companies in your area. The one I do surveys for just sent me a flyer for studies they're enrolling for and they pay anywhere from $50 to $300 for you to sit for a couple hours and give your opinions about stuff. Baltimore Research (just one of many) is looking for primetime TV viewers, artificial sweetener users, high cholesterol sufferers, SUV owners, pizza purchasers, new moms and heartburn sufferers. It's pretty likely there's a complany in your area that would put you in a study.

Instead of selling stuff on eBAY, try your local craigslist. its FREE! its local. AND it really works. I have done very well lately downsizing our furniture collection. Craigslist is the best!

When DH was in college he would sell his plasma for money. I think he made $75/week. I don't know if that's something that would interest you but just throwing it out there for what it's worth.

My mom has a college student who cleans for her. I believe the woman charges $150 for the day but she stays several hours. In my opinion, most people who have their house cleaned by others would probably want only the cleaning staff in their home. I'm not so sure they would want small children present.

How about cooking for someone? They buy the ingredients and you do the cooking?
