vitex / chasteberry question

Okay, I know that taking Vitex helps your body ovulate. My question is whats the dosage, and at what point in the cycle does one start taking it?

I too would love some authoritative info on dosage! Most sources I've found don't say how MUCH to take! :

I can, however, advise on when to take it, which is daily. Vitex works in a slow, cumulative kind of way and may have no effect for 3 months. I'm not sure it matters when in your cycle you start it, but I'd think that during or immediately after a period would be best, to give it a chance to "take hold" when all the hormones are low.

Let's hope a vitex expert comes along!

I'm not an herb expert...I've done ALOT of research and reading on my own. I've been making it as a tea...I don't think you can overdose on it. I also am waiting until tomorrow until my pd is over to start taking my special tea. I think during your pd you should let your body "rest" from what I've read. Abylite

The dosages I was told are (and took) are 40 drops of tincture 1x a day on an empty stomach. Or if your taking capsules 3 per day if standardized extract, if not standardized 4 capsules.
