Hello, I notice a small greyish spot on my 14 month old's tooth, where the 2 middle ones overlap. I brush w/ Tom's of Maine flouride free liquid grape 1-3 times per day (I brush them good at least once, and let her play w/ the toothbrush a few times per day when big sis is brushing). She is breastfed, and basically only drinks BM and water (no juice, soda, ect.). I have just tried fresh goats milk the last 2 weeks, and she seems to be able to tolerate it, so I might possibly add a little bit of that to her drinks (she is sensitive to dairy, throws up regular milk within 2 minutes of ingestion, has had issues since birth w/ dairy in my diet as well). She was a late eater, she has a really strong gag refex (hence my hesitation to really brush more often) and was unable to tolerate pureed foods. She finally started eating solids at about 10 months old, and at 14 months, eats 2-3 meals per day. We eat a whole foods diet, mainly, so she eats on a daily basis eggs, oatmeal or cream of wheat, small amount of meat, veggies, and fruit probably every 2-3 days. I thought I was doing so much better w/ her diet vs. DD#1, who I allowed to drink more juice (she has no cavities) Both of my girls were born with teeth, the one w/ the dark spot on it is one of the ones DD was born with.
At this point, it seems to not cause any pain, it is just on the surface, and not really that noticable. I called my family dentist, and he is taking a quick look at her next Wednesday, but would refer me to a pediatric dentist if more needs to be done. I noticed the Curing w/ Nutrition thread, but I'm not really sure what I need to add to he diet! Of the things mentioned, I know that we eat fresh butter (made in less than a week from a local farmer) we also eat fresh eggs, and I just started getting some raw milk (cow for toddler, goat for baby). Do I need to get flouride? I have not used that on my kids, as I tought it was bad (I'impretty sure I can call my Ped and get some if needed, though!). What type is used, how is it used? I just started giving the baby a multivitamin (shalkee brand) how do I know if it's a good one?
Thanks so much to anyone who answers!!!
